So happy that some nice warm weather has finally arrived to New England. I love getting outside for walks and runs, but I’m definitely a warm weather jogger. I do not run outside in the winter. During the winter, it’s treadmill time or ‘dreadmill’ as it’s sometimes called. One thing that I’ve discovered is that youtube has lots of virtual walks and runs. People from around the world record and upload their runs, walks, hikes, etc. I’ve got a TV set up in front of my treadmill and I search for “virtual runs”, then decide where I want to go. I’ve run along many beaches around the world, run through Central Park in NYC, run in Paris and Italy. I’ve hiked down the Grand Canyon, and lots of nature trails; you get the idea. It’s a great way to make the treadmill less boring. Put on your favorite music and see the world virtually. I’ve even started making some of my own virtual run and walk videos. So far, I’ve posted a couple of 5K races and walks, including a walk along Grace Bay Beach from my recent vacation. I just uploaded the Dick Hoyt Memorial 5 Mile Race. Not something you want to just watch, you need to get on the treadmill and watch it. YES YOU CAN!
