Star Trek Day

Today, September 8th is Star Trek Day. This date commemorates the debut of the original Star Trek TV series in 1966. My dad was a big Star Trek fan, and I remember watching the original series with him. This year is especially significant because it marks the franchise’s 60th anniversary, and it is still going strong.

Here are some of my Star Trek related photos.

Starfleet Academy diploma. This was before the Star Trek: Starfleet Academy spin-off.
Meeting William Shatner. He loved Eric’s shirt “10 reasons why Kirk is better than Picard.”
I got to meet most of the main Star Trek: The Next Generation. Gates McFadden, (Beverly Crusher) Marina Sirtis (Deanna Troi), Michael Dorn, (Worf) Jonathan Frakes, (William Riker) And Bret Spiner (Data). I asked them why I was the only one in uniform.
I especially loved meeting Wil Wheaton (Wesley Crusher) because he also played himself in The Big Bang Theory. Another favorite show of mine—super nice guy.
