The boys are all adjusting to Emo, even Eric. Eric has a very strong startle reflex, so the chirping—more like peeping and whistling with cockatiels—makes him jump, which he does not like. The startle is a neurological issue related to his CP and not something he can control. But we are hoping that with time, he will become desensitized to the noise and better able to tolerate it. Eric loves animals, just not the noises they make, especially screaming birds and barking dogs. But as birds go, cockatiels are not too bad. We shall see…
